Bill’s Pizza
Bill’s Pizza is such a part of the Newton culture. Great pizza! You will love the whole wheat crust. The salads are so fresh. Emilio’s dressing is delicious. They say that people come from all over to buy it and that they have been making for over 30 years.
Count on Bill’s to support the local schools and community!

Artfully designed contemporary home boasts the best of a West Coast ambiance and a highly desirable East Coast location. Unpretentious exterior gives little indication of the amazing interior with an expansive flowing layout, soaring ceilings, and an exquisite blend of materials including exotic wooden cabinetry (designed and constructed by Graham Grallert of Thoughforms) and and metals (metal artist, Pierre Tresfort of Tresfort Metal Works).
Italian Murano glass panels and windows are featured throughout the home offering a delightful palette of colors and light, as well as, offering a consistently beautiful vista to .61 acre landscaped grounds. The grassy grounds are the part I love the most about this home. The artful fun of an amazing tree house, play structure, and patios are carefully placed around the old trees which have matured beautifully. This home inspires one to meditate. This is a home of the future.

Happiness is a Garden
The Newton Centre Garden is an amazing display of exquisite specimens even in the fall. A garden with seasonal interest is labr of love and planning. We can be grateful to the Newton Community Pride’s Beautification Committee for their many volunteer hours. They not only maintain this award-winning garden path but several other green spaces around Newton.
I recently became aware of the Newton Centre garden while strolling through the Newton Harvest Fair a few weeks ago. The garden path is located on the Centre Street side of the Newton parking lot and is a designated ASA Display Garden. ASA is a national gardening organization with a mission to promote the seed propagation of quality varieties of flowers and vegetables. There are less than 200 ASA (All American Selections) Display Gardens in the US and only 2 in Massachusettes. Garden groups must apply and adhere to strict guidelines, for example, the garden must be located in a public place and be thriving for at least 2 years. Plantings must be nurtured from seed to flower and from ASA quality seedlings. The garden must include 40-50 award wining varieties. (Read more at www.all-americaselections.org.)
The all-volunteer organization works the Newton Community Pride Greenhouse planting award winning seedlings and eventually placing the plants in the Newton Centre Garden as well as other Newton “Green” spaces. These happy gardeners must be commended for modeling excellence in “green” living.

Bill’s Pizza is a Newton Centre Icon
I just had the best Mediterranean Wrap at Bill’s Pizza. It was the perfect summer sandwich, light and crunchy with the famous salad dressing. Emillo’s dressing is delicious. We were told that people come from all over to buy it and that they have been making for over 30 years.
Honestly, my favorite lunch, is a slice of the wheat pizza but it was all sold out. Oh, well, maybe tomorrow.

Doggon-it! We tried several shops but this is the only place we trust to groom the queen of our home, Murphy. Ever since she was a puppy, they beautify her with a “lamb’s cut.” Short but awfully cute without being too done like those poor show dog poodles. They consistently do a great job and clean her ears and toes. The shop is immaculate with a large picture window into the grooming room. Great pet accessories and fabulous greeting cards!
The funny thing is that Murphy loves to go for a ride in the car except when she is going to be groomed–then she shivers and shakes the entire ride. Darned if I know how she can tell when she is going to be done, but she always does. I hand her over to the groomers who coo, “Murphy, come on, it’s not so bad.” …Reminds me of dropping my son off for Kindergarten. When I pick her up, she is cute as a button and happy as a clam.
Ronda Bendyun and Jill Federman and their crew keep it cheerful. Enter their happy shop and feel the love!
