7 Dog Parks in Newton This Spring

Has Newton gone to the dogs?  Newton is a diverse community embraces a diverse population–so why not include the dogs! In consideration of our canine companions and their owner’s, there are 7 off-leash dog parks in Newton. Not only does this keep the pooches happy running and playing with other dogs, dog owners get to socialize.

Be sure to review the rules on the City of Newton’s web site – City of Newton Off Leash-Recreation Program in order to continue to enjoy the benefits of Newton’s many open spaces.

Off-Leash Areas

  1. Hunnewell Park
  2. McGrath Park
  3. Newton Center Playground
  4. Old Cold Spring Park
  5. Braceland Playground is closed for the winter- reopens March 15, 2015
  6. Claflin Playground is closed for the winter- reopens March 15, 2015
  7. Cabot Park Off – Leash Area is closed through the Spring of 2015.  Opening date TBD.  Renovations are complete, the area is closed to give the grass and trees a healthy start.
