When Searching for a Home, It Helps to Have a Sense of Humor!

Buying a home doesn’t have to be a daunting experience.  Yes, it is stressful but let’s talk coping skills. Janna and Kai Strand, My buyer clients, show us how to keep smiling throughout the process. Janna and Kai came to me in the late winter with a timeline of hoping to be in a new home by June. In our initial interview, I learned all about Janna and Kai, their love of cooking, and the upcoming trip to Italy in May. After finding out their wishes and visions for their new home, it was my turn to tell them all about the process. Once we had established a strategic plan, we were ready to start looking at homes.

This is the walk-in closet?

Early on, Janna and Kai had decided to set their housing criteria to single family and condos with 2-3 bedrooms with a living area greater than 900 sq. ft. Their geographic location was initially quite broad but, after some time, viewing various communities and their housing inventory, we were able to focus the search in a smart and manageable way.Buying a home doesn’t have to be a daunting experience.Janna and Kai were fearless throughout the process and managed to stay connected and have a little fun at the same time. They ended closing on an amazing 3 bedroom home with lots of updates, a fireplace living room, and a large lovely yard. They had a terrific trip to Italy and are setting in quite nicely. Job well done!

Janet is knowledgeable about Greater Boston and has been a fantastic adviser during this process. She will be as hands off or hands on as you need her to be. She is available for any questions and will work within your timeline. She has been extremely attentive and made us feel comfortable when we didn’t know much about what we were looking for or what to look for at all.  I can’t recommend her highly enough.
