My husband and I visiting Lilac Sunday ath the Arnold Arboretum. Althought I am a native Bostonian, this is the first time I have ever seen the lilac garden in all its blooming glory. The annual mid-May event is a tradition since the turn of the century. Crowds stroll through, stopping to picnic, or just bask in the fragrance. I particularly delightedin the children rolling down the grassy hills, hanging off tree limbs, and reaching out from strollers to pet the passing dog. The people watching was fun also. Lots of great hats, and moments. Grown men sticking there faces into a deep purple blossoms and enjoying the frangrance. Nirvana. For more pictures, see my Boston page.
